Redevelopment work is nearing completion on the former Rostron’s engineering building, adjacent to Daisy’s current premises on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, after planning permission was granted by Pendle Council in February.
With the capacity for an additional 700 employees, the business communications provider is ramping up its Lancashire-based recruitment drive with 100 jobs earmarked for within the next six months.
As it starts to fill these roles, the company is inviting people looking for work to attend a recruitment day at its headquarters in Lindred Road, Nelson, on Thursday, 14th July.
Daisy’s Chief Operating Officer Gareth Kirkwood commented: “The fact that our headquarters in Nelson are now full to capacity demonstrates the level of growth the company has achieved since we moved to Daisy House with less than 100 staff in 2005.
“While many businesses are currently feeling economic strain, Daisy is going from strength to strength and is looking forward to investing more time and money into growing the business even further in terms of both staff and customers. In order to accommodate this growth we recognise the importance of investing in our systems and facilities.”
A provider of communications to the UK business community, supplying voice, mobile, data and systems, Daisy has grown to have more than 75,000 customers and 1,400 employees nationwide.
The Group currently houses more than 400 employees at its head office in Nelson and with the recent move of 90 people from the recently acquired SpiriTel business in Wigan, the current premises are full to capacity.
The latest plan for expansion comes just 12 months after the opening of a new building at the existing office in Nelson.
Some employees are expected to move into the former Rostron’s premises within the next few months.
Gareth added: “One of the many reasons for expanding our Nelson base is to make room for the employees we have gained through acquisitions. However, the extra space in the new building will also mean there will be a particular focus on recruiting more staff to see us through this period of extreme growth.”
