Entanet Launches Mirada

Entanet has launched Mirada – a management portal that gives IP VPN and private wide area network (PWAN) partners and customers detailed, real-time insight into their network and its performance.

Mirada, which means ‘look’ in Spanish, gives Entanet’s IP VPN/PWAN customers a unique and custom-built interface via which they can monitor the performance of their network in real time. The highly secure site requires two-factor authentication to gain access and provides a variety of useful performance statistics including:

•Device and connection statuses across the network

•SmokePing and packet loss statistics

•Round Trip Times (RTT)

•Router CPU and memory percentage usage

•Download/upload utilisation for each connection

•Live view of who’s online

Enormously useful is Mirada’s dynamic network topology map detailing the entire network, with real-time status and capacity utilisation statistics and dynamic traffic graphs with custom date range options. This enables administrators to view current and past usage data to trouble-shoot network resources and make better decisions about bandwidth allocation. Customers can even log into a virtual machine within the portal to collaboratively run a suite of diagnostic tools, working alongside Entanet’s support technicians.

Commenting on the new portal, Entanet’s Chief Technical Officer Steve Lalonde (pictured), said: “This is a unique and extremely useful tool for our partners and their customers’ technical departments. Through Mirada they can manage their own networks in real time, assess network performance and capacity utilisation and, when necessary, work alongside our own support and NOC teams to rectify any issues. We believe this is the most comprehensive portal of its kind within the channel that delivers additional and significant value for customers and – in addition to the exceptional reliability and support we offer – really sets Entanet’s IP VPN and PWAN offerings apart.”

The portal was thoroughly tested during a period of internal and customer beta testing prior to launch, throughout which Entanet received extremely positive feedback.

Bill Naylor, Office Manager at Lawyers Online Ltd, which has an extensive IP VPN, stated: "Mirada has proved itself an excellent addition to our support system. It saved support calls as soon as it went live and gives great visibility of the entire customer network. Being able to quickly identify upstream saturation at branch office sites has enabled us to manage expectations."

The portal has been developed in-house by Entanet’s software development and NOC teams and will be reviewed and enhanced continually, based on customer feedback and industry developments.
