Excel Launches Encyclopaedia

November 2010 sees the launch of the first ever Excel Encyclopaedia. The UK based copper and optical cabling infrastructure provider has put together an all encompassing guide that not only looks at the various Excel solutions in depth, but also offers expert advice and papers on all aspects of structured cabling

The Excel Encyclopaedia is a guide to the company’s systems, including copper and fibre cable, blown fibre, intelligent infrastructure management, cabinets and voice. With technical articles, reference guides, performance charts and specification details, and also sales and marketing information, the guide is a first in the industry and provides a complete knowledgebase for people that not only want more in depth information on a particular Excel solution, but who also want more information on structured cabling and all its attributes in general.

The Encyclopaedia was born out of a need for all the vital information relating to the products and to the industry to be in one place. This easy to use, unique guide compiles details across the breadth of products that both Excel manufactures and partners with, such as Prysmian Blown Fibre and RiT Technologies’ IIM.

In addition to printed copies which are being provided to leading consultancies, specifiers and integration companies, an online version of the Encyclopaedia is also available, which will allow users to cut and paste relevant information that they need to include in tenders or bids, aiding customers every step of the way. This is available to download from the Excel Partner Area and will also be available to Consultants through a new 'Technical Information' area. This new Technical area not only provides access to the Encyclopaedia it also opens up a library of technical notes.

Tracey Calcutt, Marketing Manager, comments, “We are extremely proud of the finished article and this has taken months to pull together, with a large amount of input from our RCDD trained technical experts. We believe the Encyclopaedia will become an invaluable tool to any organisation involved in the design, specification, installation, and use of high performance copper and optical cabling systems. As a support tool for our direct and in direct customers it also sets a new benchmark in the market.

Excel is a complete, end-to-end networking solution, offering exceptional performance, reliability and support, manufactured to European quality standards and covered by one warranty. Excel is the number 4 structured cabling brand in the UK, and, with a core focus on standards compliance and system performance, Excel works closely with 3rd party test laboratories such as Delta, ETL and 3P.
