Executel Dials Up Record Turnover

North East reseller, Executel, has announced record company turnover of £4.8m with 24 per cent increase in revenue during the past 12 months.

The Gateshead-based firm is now on target to dial up turnover in excess of £6m within the next 12 months as it continues to rapidly expand its booming Tyneside operation, followed by a longer-term plan to reach the £10m mark by 2009.

Figures also show Executel to have significantly increased its contracted client base by 58 per cent this year, resulting in an extensive portfolio of over 1,500 clients including TSG, One NorthEast, Durham County Council, Gateshead College and The Sage Gateshead.

Founded in 1997 by Tim Price, Executel has grown rapidly to become a market leader with a 30-strong workforce at its MetroCentre premises in Gateshead.

Of the firm’s continued success and future growth plans, Mr Price, said: “In recent years, Executel has enjoyed a terrific period of growth but there is still a huge amount of opportunity in the regional telecoms market.

“North East businesses are beginning to realise the potential and far-reaching benefits of IP telephony in which we now specialise and as a result, one by one are making the transition from traditional systems to full IP. This is reflected in our year-end figures, which confirm a 26 per cent increase in pure IP sales during the past 12 months.

“Having first started down the IP road back in 2002, we are now the region’s leading supplier of emerging IP technologies. This puts us in the privileged position to supply the best, most innovative telecommunications products, which in turn are delivering measurable benefits and cost savings to hundreds of local firms.”
