F-Secure and Nokia are bringing solutions to TeliaSonera in a new way to facilitate effective mobile device management for the SME market.

TeliaSonera will provide device management for SMEs as a hosted service for its enterprise customers. The Managed Device-solution combines the Nokia Intellisync Device Management platform and F-Secure Mobile Security solution, which together enable security for the company’s entire mobile fleet. TeliaSonera’s Managed Device concept will provide corporations with a solution to utilise the full potential of mobile devices and services in an easy to use package.

F-Secure Mobile Security ensures comprehensive mobile terminal protection with functionality and ease of use. The antivirus application shields the device against viruses, spyware, worms and trojans. Combined with real time, on-device protection, these features ensure a carefree mobile computing experience.

The standard provided by the Open Mobile Alliance has been the cornerstone in enabling device management functionality in the F-Secure Mobile Security solution. F-Secure has worked for years to ensure that its Mobile Security solutions are compliant with this standard.

Nokia Intellisync Device management is a flexible and cost effective over the air device management solution for remotely managing mobile devices in business environments. The solution supports both inhouse IT and service provider deployment models.

Nokia Intellisync Device Management allows IT administrators to remotely install, update and manage applications on mobile devices. F-Secure Mobile Security is integrated with Nokia Intellisync Device Management, enabling efficient provisioning and management of F-Secure’s solution for protecting mobile devices.

Commenting on the cooperation between F-Secure, Nokia and TeliaSonera, Samu Konttinen vice president for F-Secure Mobile Solution Business, said: “This cooperation enables improved mobile services for the SME segment as companies are facing a greater need to manage their employees’ devices, as well as the transfer of applications and data. It also creates synergies for all parties involved and shows that innovative business models can truly be beneficial and create added value for all parties involved.”

Lauri Immonen, product manager for customer network security, broadband services at TeliaSonera added: “It is evident that the SME and corporate segment need easy to use mobile solutions that are truly interoperable. Combined, the Nokia Intellisync Device Management and F-Secure Mobile Security solutions create the right platform that TeliaSonera will be able to bring to IT Managers in the SME and corporate segment, easing their worries about how to manage and secure mobile devices that are packed with mission critical and company confidential information.”
