Fone Logistics’ people get promo happy

Handset and airtime distributor, Fone Logistics, is promoting success internally by launching a range of internal sales incentives to reward its 60-strong workforce.

With more than 40% of Fone Logistics’ workforce clocking up a minimum of five years’ service, staff engagement continues to be at the forefront of its 2010 marketing strategy, with particular focus on combining internal sales incentives with dealer promotions.

Fone Logistics kicked off the year with a World Cup themed incentive to its entire sales team, whereby the member of staff that scores highest in a range of key performance indicators will receive an all expenses paid summer holiday.

Last week saw a Grand National sweepstake promotion where the top sales person that connected the most BlackBerry Orange sales every day for that week won a free bet on the first horse drawn that day and a bottle of Champagne.

Next week starts with a marketing incentive for dealers. Every order they ship will have a National Lottery scratch card inside and every one of their customers will receive a free Lotto entry to the May Day draw on 1 May.

Fone Logistics marketing director Julien Parven said: “Fone Logistics is a great place to work and we want to share the company’s success with the rest of our team, as essentially they are what makes it successful.

“The sales staff incentives are designed to create friendly competition amongst our sales departments, build camaraderie and make the sales floor an exciting place to work. We have also placed emphasis on linking the internal promotions with the dealer incentives so that they complement each other, encourage team work and a more joined up and consistent approach to handset and network sales.

“As part of our marketing plans for 2010 we want Fone Logistics to become an employer of choice and with these fun and quirky incentives we hope that we are on our way to achieving that goal.”

Fone Logistics has also launched a quarter-long initiative where staff can gain rewards by linking Nokia’s Xcellerate range, including the X6, 6700 and 6303i, with O2 and YES customers.

Parven continued: “The objective of the Nokia promotion is to increase the purchase volume of Nokia’s Xcellerate range by incentivising dealers to attach a device from this range to a Vodafone and O2 airtime proposition to our connecting base.

“What some dealers don’t know is that we provide a complete off-the-shelf marketing package to help them sell. With this incentive, we will provide full artwork and promotional materials including a product brochure featuring the devices and their functional specs, e-casts to the FL connecting base across GSM networks and promotional features within the dealer extranet.

“We will also run manufacturer training and sales promotion days throughout the next three months, which will include tactical incentives and spot prizes built around airtime-linked sales of the targeted devices,” he continued.

The Nokia dealer promotion will be underpinned with a Fone Logistics internal sales staff incentive, where sales of the Nokia range made by the handset sales team and connections made by the airtime sales team will be rewarded with bonus points towards the World Cup promotion.
