fring Wins GSMA’s Mobile Innovation Grand Prix - Israel Tournament

fring, the mobile social hub that lets users communicate and share web-based experiences from their mobile devices, has been named winner of the GSMA’s Mobile Innovation Grand Prix- Israel Tournament.

fring will continue as a finalist at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards - Mobile Innovation Grand Prix Final at GSMA’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 2010.

The GSMA Global Mobile Awards is the premier international showcase of product, service and creative excellence for the mobile industry. Awards include a wide range of categories relevant for players of all sizes in the mobile value chain. In 2009, Innovation takes centre stage at the with the introduction of Mobile Innovation 'Grand Prix' showcasing promising entrepreneurs, small and medium sized companies developing and introducing innovative products and services.

The Mobile Innovation Grand Prix category differs from other Global Mobile Award categories as a year-round process with several stages of judging through the year including physical presentations at associated events and industry partner awards.

During each GSMA Mobile Innovation regional event, two winners receive a trip to Barcelona to compete as a Finalist for the Mobile Innovation Grand Prix Championship, at the world’s largest mobile industry event- the Mobile World Congress in February 2010. Each tournament identifies companies through those that know the industry the best. The GSMA looks for the industry experts and pull from a broad array of sources; such as operators, venture capital firms, industry suppliers, etc.

fring was named a winner along with Siklu at the Mobile Innovation Israeli Tournament. The 2nd Annual GSMA Mobile Innovation Israel Event took place this year as part of E&Y's Journey conference which celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship in Israel. Journey is the largest high tech industry conference in Israel.
