Frontier Forges Ahead

Frontier Voice and Data is set to appoint a new Managing Director in January 2009 according to acting MD peter Southgate.

“We have identified two very good candidates and expect to announce the appointment very shortly. Meanwhile business continues to grow for Frontier; we have signed up ten new resellers in the last five weeks and struck an agreement with BT Wholesale to supply their product to our channel partners.”

Southgate added that reseller attrition is zero and that he is launching a new white labelled hosted telephony for resellers.

“We are offering dealer and reseller partners MyIP a ‘white labelled’ a hosted telephony service aimed at SMEs and businesses operating across multiple sites. Frontier partners can offer their customers MyIP under their own branding with Frontier providing all back office support including billing, customer service and technical support on a 24/7 basis.”

MyIP provides all the features and functions of a telephone system but instead of requiring a cabinet at the customer’s premises the service is provided remotely for a rental charge. This means there is no capital outlay required making it ideal for start businesses and organisations that are growing and moving premises frequently.

MyIP is a ‘plug and play’ solution, which is pre-configured. It’s simple to use and can be managed via an on-screen browser based interface. The onscreen interface also allows a full range of call handling facilities such as call transfer and call management functionality for features like hunt groups.

As calls are routed via a broadband connection through Frontier’s own voice and data network, calling charges to other locations are also reduced. However, there is no need to change phone numbers so MyIP customers can keep their existing numbers.

Peter Southgate concluded, “MyIP is a new way for our reseller partners to provide their customers with a professional telephony service, without the need for the expense and capital outlay required for traditional PBX customer premises equipment. It’s simple, effective and provides free calls between Frontier IP users, wherever their location and also saves money with reduced call charges to other locations. For any start business, multi-site operation or home worker organisation it projects a professional image with efficient telephony for minimal outlay and running costs.”
