Funkwerk Signs Up VComm & Northamber In Distribution Deals

Two UK distribution deals in two days have been announced by German voice and data appliance vendor Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC)

First up was Newbury based specialist IP telephony distributor VCOMM who will distribute Funkwerk's bintec, elmeg and artem brands, which address xDSL routing, IP handsets and PBXs with VoIP support, plus wireless access point solutions.

Scott Dobson, Managing Director of VCOMM, said, "We have extensively tested the Funkwerk product range over the last few months and are very excited about this new strategic relationship. The company is strongly committed to promoting its portfolio in the UK and our focused approach to partner recruitment will complement its channels to market moving forward."

This was followed yesterday by a similar distribution agreement with Northamber who will distribute Funkwerk's wide range of professional networking and telecommunications solutions for voice and data convergence. With the proven brands - artem, bintec and elmeg - the Funkwerk portfolio covers wireless LANs, IP-based routing, VPNs, Voice-over-IP and Voice-over-VPN (VoVPN), as well as highly integrated telecommunications systems that support analogue, digital and SIP based IP telephony.

"The latest generation of Funkwerk products successfully integrates IP networking, wireless and ITC technologies to deliver some of the best convergence solutions available for the SME/SMB markets," said Henry Matthews, Managing Director at Northamber. "Funkwerk addresses a growing demand from our resellers and is an important strategic addition to the Northamber portfolio."

"Since we brought together the bintec, artem and elmeg brands under the FEC banner, we have been working hard to develop and engineer a powerful range of integrated convergence solutions designed for the UK market," said, Guy Goodman, director of International Sales at Funkwerk. "With this Northamber agreement, we are now in a very strong position to aggressively take these new products to market and compete with some of the biggest IT and telecoms brands."

"FEC is already one of Europe's leading vendors of professional network and telecommunications solutions and we are now committed to building a strong presence in the UK market," adds Goodman.
