Gamma Quickest on the Hosted Draw

Gamma Telecom has emerged as outright winner in the Griffin Internet ‘Softswitch Shoot Out’ held at Sandown Park, Esher last week.

The pre-Convergence Summit event organised by Griffin saw six vendors slug it out in front of 60 resellers in order to be judged on five key criteria:

- Best presentation

- Clearest Channel proposition

- Value for Money

- Meeting the Griffin defined user RFQ

- Most likely to partner with

Each supplier had just 15 minutes to complete their presentation – a ‘response to tender’ for a multi-site construction company devised by Griffin, with a further ten minutes allowed for questions from the floor. At the end of all the presentations resellers completed a score card for each of the six competing companies.

Emerging the winner in every category was Gamma Telecom. Second place went to Teleware with Hipcom in third position. Joint fourth place went to Swyx, VanillaIP and Kingston (Affiniti).

Andrew Dickinson, Sales and Marketing Manager, Griffin Internet told Comms Business Magazine, “The event was an incredible success and was oversubscribed three times with resellers keen to attend. The last question we had on our feedback form was most revealing in that we asked resellers if they currently sold hosted telephony or were planning to do so. 60 percent said they were not selling hosted but of those 80 percent said they were planning on starting to sell the application in the next six months.”
