Gamma starts the new year with a bonus for Channel Partners

The new year started off with a treat for channel partners of hosted telephony and network provider Gamma Business Communications. Since the launch of its new hosted Horizon solution, the company is rewarding channel partners with immediate lump sum commission payments as well as staged instalments.

The move - believed to be an industry first for a hosted solution - is part of a new reseller initiative that aims to better reward current partners and recruit traditional PBX vendors more accustomed to up front commissions. “Sales of subscription services normally mean monthly percentages paid over two or three years or more,” explains Gamma’s marketing manager Jamie Ward. ”Paying commissions up front in this way is unprecedented and underlines our confidence in our partners and in their commitment to their customers.”

Horizon is a hosted VoIP telephone solution for businesses and is ideal for companies with multiple locations. Highly flexible in both configuration and operation it requires little on-site infrastructure beyond IP handsets and scales readily to many hundreds of users.

Based on the Broadsoft platform Horizon offers geographic numbering for any local area and is managed entirely through a simple Gamma-developed Web interface. It is hosted and fully supported within Gamma’s own resilient network and may be customised to the exact needs of a user organisation.

“Horizon is compelling to end users and this unique commission deal makes it compelling to us and other traditionally hardware focused resellers,” said Gareth Mundy of Panatec, London, one of GBC's Elite partners. “As the customer base progressively bales out of the dwindling PBX market we see Horizon slotting in as an ideal hosted replacement.”

Gamma Business Communications (GBC) was formed in 1995 and has grown to become one of the UK’s largest and best regarded suppliers of communications products and services. It supplies more than 8,000 SMEs and its parent company Gamma owns and operates one of the country’s most extensive resilient backbone networks. Gamma’s network has three times been voted fixed line network of the year and the company has been named Comms National Awards Carrier of the Year for the past three years. Gamma is certified as a CarbonNeutral company.
