Hyperoptic runs its own dedicated Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, which is why it can offer symmetrical gigabit broadband services. It announced it would be expanding its full fibre network to Glasgow in 2015. Since then the company has invested heavily in the city via installing its services across 140 property developments.
Hyperoptic also recently signed a partnership with New Gorbals Housing Association to extend its services across its portfolio, giving its social housing tenants access to the fastest and most reliable connectivity in the UK.
New Gorbals Housing Association Chairperson Linda Malone said: “With so many essential services moving online, it is crucial that our tenants have affordable and reliable Internet access. Hyperoptic’s installation of their full fibre network will give our tenants and residents the option to sign up to superfast broadband on a flexible month by month basis. We understand the importance of digital inclusion in our community, and this is part of our support to local people to access digital services.”
Edinburgh is also making headway in cementing its Gigabit City status. Hyperoptic has, or is currently installing, its full fibre infrastructure across the city, across over 40 property developments.
