Good Times at Oak!

It may be a sign of green-shoot recovery for the British economy but Oak Telecom is still reeling ecstatically after March, which joint CEOs, Phil Reynolds and James Emm, believes was Oak’s most profitable month ever for orders received.

The Poole-based enterprise was thrilled by the constant stream of orders arriving by fax and email.

James Emm commented “It is all down to the excellent efforts of our channel, the high and focussed activity of our account managers and marketing team, and the range of support services provided by all at Head Office. Throughout the last 18 months, our aim has to be to carry on in ‘Business As Usual’ mode which has resulted in recruitment rather than redundancies in 2009, and has put us in good shape for 2010 and beyond.”

Oak, whose core business is based around the sales and support of predominantly software-based applications to enhance the core telephone system offering, received orders for 133 call management systems, 56 call-recording systems (mainly on ISDN30 configurations), 31 voice-mail systems, and 66 CTI site licences. Emm added ‘ to sell this many applications through the channel in one month is an indication that resellers are beginning to see an increase in orders themselves, which is great news for all’

Joint CEO, Phil Reynolds, however, added a more cautious note – “March can often be good for Oak due to the long working month and many organisations having year-end budgets to spend. Having said that, our support renewals department also had a record month, and I am totally confident that if we can survive, and in fact thrive, as we have done in the last 18 months, we can go forward with total confidence. We are pleased to be part of this great industry.”
