VoIP vendor HipCom say they have had an excellent response to their latest partner seminar – part of a programme of events to promote Hosted IP telephony through their channel – which was attended by an audience of end-user prospects, potential resellers and technology partners in response to an invitation from Poole-based HipCom reseller TXI to find out more about how Voice over IP – and a hosted solution in particular – could benefit their businesses.
The three hour session was led by industry-specialist speaker Paul Harrison who is Regional VP of Northern European Sales for Broadsoft. He covered a number of topics including an overview of VoIP, ‘arguments for and against’ and ‘the real business benefits’. As part of the event, delegates also had the opportunity to make a VoIP call for themselves, enabling them to understand that IP Telephony is a now a reality – as many of them had never been given the opportunity to do so before.
HipCom partner TXI, who also specialise in wireless and mobile solutions, were extremely pleased with the way that the day went and immediately set up a number of meetings with prospect companies. They now intend to repeat these events every three months to make more and more people aware of the reality of Hosted IP Telephony.
“We made the decision some time ago that a Hosted VoIP solution would fit well into our portfolio”, explains Anita Potten, Director and Business Manager of TXI. “We originally started working with Inclarity but they did not meet our requirements as they were not able to support SIP. Then we were introduced to HipCom by Paul Harrison, who is Regional VP of Northern European Sales for BroadSoft. The HipCom solution met all of our requirements and they have supported us very well since we started working with them last October. This event has been extremely successful for us and we are now in detailed discussions with a number of interested companies, including some high-street names, which is very exciting”.
