Horizon equIP is first past the post to offer F5 training

Horizon equIP Technology, the networking and security Division of Horizon UK, part of Avnet Technology Solutions Ltd, has announced it has achieved full training accreditation from leading Application Delivery Networking provider F5 Networks - the first UK distributor to achieve this. Horizon equIP will now be able to offer training courses for the BIG-IP platform and related software modules to support channel partners nationwide.

BIG-IP training has historically only been available directly from F5; the availability of equIP’s training facilities will provide resellers with a greater variety of course dates and locations.

Laura Harman, Business Unit Director, Horizon equIP Technology: ““We are continuing to invest in our F5 business, and see training and skills transfer as critical success factors in supporting F5’s market, which is rapidly gathering pace. This accreditation provides us with a unique opportunity to add further support, not only to our business partners, but also to F5, allowing them to continue to scale their business.”

The BIG-IP Essentials and BIG-IP Advanced courses will be run from Horizon equIP’s fully equipped Basingstoke training facility and will be available for partner skills training and for their end user customers as “white label” training, which they can sell under their own brand, allowing further margin opportunities. Horizon equIP, which has a reputation for supporting its vendors with market development and deep technical integration skills, has trained three of its engineers who are now fully accredited to deliver F5 training.

“I am delighted that Horizon continues to invest in F5’s UK business. Our partner community will see clear benefits from this augmented training offering, and the net result will be to make our market an even more compelling and profitable proposition.” said Jim Tickner, Director, Professional Services at F5, “Horizon’s knowledge and experience as an integrating distributor means they are perfectly placed to address the need for increased training capacity within our channel.”
