Huawei holds its first UK & Ireland partners convention

Huawei has announced its UK procurement plan at its first UK & Ireland service partners convention in London

Following strong business growth in 2010, Huawei announced it will double local procurement from ?40 million in 2011 to ?80 million by the end of 2012. Currently Huawei has 9 core service providers in the UK & Ireland and the company is expected to partner with a further 13 core service providers in the next 12 months enabling fast and reliable delivery services for fixed and mobile operators in the UK.

Around 60 senior representatives from 27 of Huawei’s suppliers joined the conference. During the event, Huawei shared its view of the telecoms industry and its ‘Early Involvement, Close Collaboration’ procurement strategy. Huawei is striving to create a healthy, local service supply chain through continued high levels of investment.

This event gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation for their valued support in the past, present and future. We are also inviting more suppliers to partner with Huawei providing comprehensive solutions to telecom carriers, enterprises and consumers.”

At the convention Huawei presented 2010 top UK and Ireland delivery partner awards to Greenwoods, Modular , Magdalene , Telent , Indigo , Panalpina, KTL and Obelisk for their outstanding performance.

Huawei recently announced that it will double its workforce to 1000 and will generate a further 1,000-1,500 subcontracting roles in the local market over the next three years.
