Inter-Tel Announces Plans To Introduce 7000 Series IP PBX

Inter-Tel has announced that it currently expects to release its Inter-Tel 7000 network communications system in mid-2006. The announcement was made at Inter-Tel’s 2006 Business Partner Conference at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas.

The Inter-Tel 7000 is a pure IP platform that will be positioned to address the IP needs of medium- to large-sized businesses. The platform will be standards-based, and will feature embedded IP-enabled applications, including presence management capabilities.

The company says the Inter-Tel 7000 is being designed to meet the most stringent requirements for business continuity and network security. “The Inter-Tel 7000 will deliver a robust suite of Inter-Tel’s business process enhancement solutions, including collaboration, conferencing, contact centre and mobility applications.”

Plans call for the Inter-Tel 7000 to be highly scaleable and to interoperate with the company’s Inter-Tel 5000 and Axxess systems.

Field trials are scheduled for early to mid-2006. Inter-Tel expects to make the 7000 platform available through its existing routes to market.
