It’s Back to School… for Chess

The bright summer nights are soon to be drawing to a close, as the school holidays are nearing the end and the roads around rush hour gradually become a little busier.

As most parents are preparing for the kids to go back to school, Alderley Edge based Chess Telecom, is also gearing up for sending its people back to the classroom to attend an industry recognised Leadership & Management Programme.

Following an induction in August, 20 managers and team leaders from Chess will start a 6 month in-house training course run by South Cheshire College, where they will attain an NVQ in Team Leadership and Management.

Already recognised as an Investor in People and an opportunity provider, Chess plans to develop its people through this programme and help guide their career progression.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Chess People to really learn whilst they work and develop their careers,” said Steve Buschenfeld, Head of Employer Engagement, South Cheshire College. “It is also a fantastic opportunity for the college to be working with a local Cheshire company which is also one of the UK's fastest growing companies and listed in the Sunday Times Fast/Tech Track 100 for the last three years. I’m looking forward to the term starting and I hope this will be an enjoyable learning experience for all involved.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with South Cheshire College,” added Andrew Green, Head of Training and Performance. “They have experience based firmly within the ‘real world’ and this joint venture demonstrates Chess’ ongoing commitment to its people as an investor in people and for company growth.”
