Kcom awarded multiple lots on the PSN Services Framework Agreement

Managed communication services provider builds on its award to the PSN Connectivity Framework Agreement

Kcom announced that it has been successful in its bid for a number of Lots of the Public Services Network (PSN) Services Framework Agreement awarded by Government Procurement Service.

The multi-lot agreement provides the communications services that complement the connectivity services available under the PSN Connectivity Framework in order to provide the complete PSN solutions that customers are looking for. Kcom has won places on the lots for Communication Services, Contact Centre Services, Mobile Voice and Data Services, LAN Services and, notably, Unified Services.

The award of the PSN Services Framework Agreement follows on from Kcom being awarded one of only 12 places on the PSN Connectivity Framework Agreement in March. Now that both agreements have been awarded, public sector bodies looking to implement a PSN or overlying services can be assured that they are selecting an organisation with the capability of covering the entire scope of their requirements. It additionally provides more choice in the procurement routes now available for these services.

Afshin Attari, Director of Public Sector & Public Services Networks at Kcom says: “The services that sit on top of PSN connectivity are vital in helping public sector bodies achieve the true benefits that a PSN has to offer by enabling greater collaboration between organisations as well as cost savings. Our success across all lots for which we bid means that we can serve customers with specific requirements such as unified communications, contact centres or mobile who can chose the appropriate individual lot. Customers with a broad spectrum of requirements and a preference to have a single supplier can also procure a full range of services from us by choosing Lot 10, unified services, which can include requirements from any of the other nine lots.”

Kcom is currently deploying PSNs for Staffordshire County Council, Dorset County Council and for the East Midlands PSN (emPSN). Securing additional PSN contracts will be a key area of focus for Kcom in 2012.

“The PSN market remains a key focus for us, and our award to both the PSN Connectivity and Services Frameworks demonstrates our capability in this area,” says Afshin. “Organisations embarking on their PSN journey have a range of challenges to navigate, issues such as governance, security, shared services and compliance, which can all be quite testing. The experience we’ve gained in working alongside our existing PSN customers, combined with the PSN Framework awards, means that we have a lot to offer PSN customers.”
