KEMP Technologies has announced that its LoadMaster hardware-based and virtual appliance load balancers are now approved for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 that integrates voice communications, IM, audio, video, and web conferencing.
KEMP’s LoadMaster portfolio delivers reliable server load balancing, optimised application delivery and built-in SSL acceleration for any size business. This approval ensures customers have a seamless experience integrating LoadMasters with Microsoft Lync server pools.
The solutions make it easy to speed deployment of critical server roles and protocols offered by Microsoft Lync Server 2010. By adding load balancing, traffic can be scaled across Lync 2010 Front End, Director and Edge server pools. And with Layer 7 health checking, should a server become inaccessible, the load balancer will take it off-line and automatically re-route and reconnect users to other functioning servers to guarantee application uptime.
“We were delighted to work with KEMP in the preparation of their Lync Server 2010 Load Balancer proof of concept testing and deployment documentation. Throughout the engagement we found KEMP’s products to be very reliable with minimal prior subject matter or technical knowledge required for a speedy load balanced Lync deployment,” commented Johan Delimon of Ordina Belgium. Johan Delimon is also Competence Lead for Unified Communications at Ordina and has been recognised for three consecutive years as a Microsoft MVP for Lync Server 2010 and OCS. “Adding KEMP as a reference project for our Lync business will provide great support to our customers,” adds Delimon.
“Having our entire product portfolio approved for Microsoft Lync Server further strengthens the LoadMaster’s ability to deliver highly available, reliable and secure solutions to our business customers utilising Microsoft applications,” said Peter Melerud, executive vice president of product management at KEMP Technologies. “The Microsoft -approved LoadMaster solutions for Lync Server 2010 continue to reduce the price barrier for any sized business while ensuring high availability across all applications.”
Only select vendors are eligible for Lync Server 2010 qualification and the program is designed to ensure interoperability between vendors such as KEMP and Microsoft in a consistent and supportable manner. The entire portfolio of LoadMaster products – hardware-based, Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) for Hyper-V™ and Virtual LoadMaster (VLM) for VMware™ – is approved for Lync Server 2010. All KEMP’s products include a comprehensive first year warranty and technical support agreement with pricing starting at only £1,100.00.
