Key Appointment at MLL Telecom

MLL Telecom, which specialises in building and operating broadband wireless networks, today announced that it has appointed Garry Mansfield as Sales and Marketing Director.

Mansfield has previously worked for both BT and QinetiQ, one of the world's leading defence technology and security companies. He has worked in the oil & gas, pharmaceutical, government, defence and ICT sectors delivering sales growth from high technology solutions, consulting and managed services, both directly and through a number of channel partner organisations.

Mansfield said: "MLL competes strongly in a highly competitive market that offers a great deal of opportunity in the coming period. I am delighted to be joining such an ambitious business that offers customers a winning blend of excellent service performance and fantastic value. I will focus on understanding customer needs and ensuring that we continue to provide cost-effective, reliable and robust solutions”.

Godfrey Wilson, Chairman of MLL Telecom, commented: “Garry’s strong sales and customer management experience are a perfect fit for us. We know that he will enable us to cement our position as a dominant player in the UK’s wireless market”.

MLL has an extensive portfolio of customers and channel partners including system integrators, enterprise and public sector organisations. This includes BT, Vodafone, Affiniti, ntl:Telewest, Azzuri, East Sussex County Council, North Yorkshire County Council, Dorset Police and North Dorset District Council.

In February Ofcom awarded MLL national spectrum licences in the 32 and 40 GHz bands. MLL will use this spectrum to support its core business of providing carrier-grade wireless backhaul, through point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connectivity. The spectrum can also be used for WiMAX backhaul. In January MLL was formally approved as an official supplier to the public sector market by OGCbuying.solutions, an executive agency of OGC (Office of Government Commerce) in the Treasury. This reflects the value placed on MLL's strength and experience in the wireless industry and enables it to supply services more efficiently to the public sector.
