Lenovo Appoints Ebel as VP

Lenovo has appointed Oliver Ebel as the Vice President and General Manager of EMEA Smartphone, effective immediately. In this role, Oliver is responsible for the sales of both Lenovo and Motorola smartphones and wearable technology across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

While leading the growth and expansion of the business unit, Oliver is responsible for the business strategy and direction for all sales and marketing activities, as well heading the business relationships for smartphones in the region.

Oliver brings with him a wealth of experience in this sector. Previously, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Lenovo Middle East and Africa (MEA), overseeing business operations across the entire MEA region. Oliver was also responsible for strategy development for the PC, smartphones, tablets and servers business and leading a team of more than 300 employees. His tenure saw him take Lenovo to #2 in PCs in the MEA region; #1 in consumer PCs and launched Lenovo smartphones in 24 countries in the region in less than two years.

Oliver has over 18 years of experience in the ICT industry, where he has held several managerial positions, including General Manager of Lenovo CEE, and Director Relationship Sales in Germany and Austria. He is a graduate of the University of Applied Science in Iserlohn, Germany and holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering.
