LG Electronics and Orange join forces for connected TV

Following an agreement signed on 7 January at trade show, CES, between Orange and LG Electronics (LGE), the companies will offer exclusive access in France to an Orange portal for LG televisions that are internet connected. From March 2010, the portal, which will be open to all, will be accessed with a button on the TV remote control.

This three year partnership, which starts in March 2010, will enable LG France to offer a wide range of flat screens from March 2010 delivering a unique entertainment experience, with intuitive and simplified access to numerous multimedia services from Orange.

Orange and LG Electronics are confirming their commitment to offering all new buyers of connected LG TVs the best entertainment and services on their TV screen.

Developed by Orange, this portal has been designed to offer a new customer experience alongside traditional TV usage. In one click, users will have to access a portal with a vast selection of useful and fun services, from Orange Sport Info, 24/24 Actu (news service) to Liveradio and other content such as TV programs, videos, music and practical information.

Eric Surdej, executive vice president, and general manager of LG Electronics France, explained: “Thanks to our partnership with Orange, we are offering our customers a rich and very easy-to-use portal, allowing them to benefit from a complete range of multimedia content and services, as well as unlimited connectivity in their living room.”
