Low-cost update for the LANCOM VPN Client

LANCOM Systems, the specialists in network connectivity and wireless LAN, are launching a promotion of their LANCOM Advanced VPN Client from June 26 to August 31, 2012 with an exclusive update to the very latest version-irrespective of the previous version owned by the customer.

For the price of a regular upgrade license, any customer can migrate to the current version 2.3 of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client (Windows version).

Even the version 1.0 can be inexpensively upgraded to the latest release. This offers existing users of older versions, to upgrade to the latest version of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client with a discount of more than 40 percent, compared with the normal price. Bulk licensees for 10 or 25 users are also available.

The current version 2.3 of the VPN client already supports Windows 8 and, thanks to its optimal adaptation to Windows 7 and Windows 8, it provides faster Internet access to mobile users. The VPN client also supports "seamless roaming".

An important aspect for mobile users, seamless roaming is the ability to move between different networks such as wireless LAN and 3G/4G. Online applications are able to survive an interruption to or change of connection without losing system connectivity. This function is available with version 2.3 of the Advanced VPN Client in conjunction with LCOS 8.6, the latest version of the LANCOM Operating System.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client supports not only connections via wireless LAN, ISDN, analog and DSL modems; unlike standard IPSec and SSL VPN clients, it also works with mobile connections via 3G/4G and GPRS.

This client works with all current 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.

The advantage for businesses is clear: Even with heterogeneous infrastructures, companies can work with a single, universal client to manage remote access. The benefit: Lower costs for administrators, the user help desk, and on training.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client version 2.3 supports 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

A 30-day demo version is available for download from the LANCOM web site.
