Avaya has announced the appointment of Ioan MacRae as Midmarket Director for Avaya International, focusing on Europe and the Africa, Middle East and Asia (AMEA) region. This role will see MacRae streamline Avaya’s midmarket strategy across these key regions.

In his new role, MacRae will be responsible for driving the adoption of Avaya’s midmarket portfolio, improving sales cycles and go-to-market strategies in key countries. Avaya’s midmarket solution is sold purely through its channel partners and MacRae will continue to focus on driving and developing opportunities for midmarket-TAMs, channel and distribution partners in the region.

MacRae has a wealth of sales and management expertise in the technology sector and a deep understanding of the industry. He joined Avaya in March 2014 as Midmarket Director for Europe. Previously he was General Manager, UK, Ireland and Greece for Westcon Group.

Ioan MacRae, Midmarket Director, Avaya International commented, “I’m delighted to be taking on this role and continuing to build on our success across key regions. Avaya is delivering tailored solutions that help midmarket organisations achieve their digital transformation goals at their own pace and path, in a model of their choosing. I’ve been working closely with our partners to help them deliver solutions to drive growth and transformation and I will continue to do so. I’m also looking forward to working with the immensely talented people we have within our global Avaya team and driving the Avaya brand across a wider region.”

Fadi Moubarak, Channel Leader – Europe and AMEA, Avaya added, “The midmarket remains at the core of our strategy due to the growth opportunity it represents for Avaya globally. Having been instrumental in driving the development and launch of our midmarket solution, IPO Powered Cloud – a key component of our cloud capability – I am confident that Ioan will continue to help drive our go-to-market strategy, and achieve equal and greater success in this new role covering a wider and more diverse region.”
