Magirus UK Expands Security Division

Distributor Magirus has announced the appointment of two new security vendors to its UK security portfolio - NETASQ and Radware. As a result of the agreements, Magirus will now offer resellers unified threat management (UTM) appliances from NETASQ and intrusion prevention and network optimisation systems from Radware. This is part of Magirus’ strategy to provide partners with a best-of-breed portfolio of established and emerging security software applications, hardware and services.

At the same time Magirus has recruited Anthony Coker and Paul Corsbie-Smith to the UK Security Division as security sales specialists. Both Coker and Corsbie-Smith take up their new positions with immediate effect at the UK headquarters in Bracknell.

Magirus’ appointment of the new vendors will create opportunities for existing as well as new partners. The company will begin distribution of the following portfolio immediately and will be making further strategic vendor appointments during the next few months.

Netasq – provides UTM appliances that protect a company’s network against intrusions without requiring additional hardware by using a simplified, integrated approach where key security technologies are combined on a single appliance.

Niall McGrane, director of the UK Security Division at Magirus commented, “Our security business in the UK is making great progress. We are on the look out for partners who are focused on aggressive growth in Security - either as a new market or who may have an existing business but want new, emerging Security solutions. This is why we are building a strong team of security sales specialists who have extensive knowledge of the security market and the channel, but also have strong consultative skills. McGrane added, It is these skills that will help partners maximise growth from new business opportunities.”
