Mainline curries favour with its dealers

Orange distributor, Mainline Digital Communications, curried favour with its dealers at its quarterly business update meeting, recently held in Birmingham.

The event was hosted at the Teamworks Karting conference suite, followed by an afternoon of fast paced, adrenalin-fuelled Go Karting. The day was finished off with fine wine and private dining at Asha’s Michelin listed restaurant, serving authentic Punjabi cuisine in elegant surroundings. Finally, dealers retired to the luxury boutique Malmaison hotel, situated in the Mailbox, in the heart of the city.

The day was a great success, with 14 Business Mobile dealers and seven m-viron dealers attending from across the UK.

Speakers from Mainline and Orange covered topics on new business tariffs, the role of the indirect channel in the SME market place, training, convergence opportunities and the retentions process.

“The day had a really good format and there was some great content,” commented Richard Brindley from Albion Business Communications. “It was a great opportunity to discuss real topics with the people who matter at Orange and Mainline, with good representation from both organisations. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day. I had a great time at the Go Karting and the food at the Indian restaurant was some of the best I’ve ever tasted.”

The meeting included a detailed overview of the changes to Orange's business plans, followed by a questions and answers session.

“The business tariff refresh is a welcomed change from our dealers,” commented Gail Hollinshead, Mainline’s director of dealer sales. “Orange now has simpler and easier to understand options, improved cost control, and greater flexibility to allow business customers to adapt to economic pressures.

“The result is that customers know exactly what they are getting, and due to the flexibility of ‘Chop and Change’ monthly plans, dealers can contact their customers on a more frequent basis to check they are making the most of this versatile feature. Finally, customers will not be offered better deals if they go directly to Orange, thus evening out the playing field and making Orange an even stronger proposition for mobile customers.”

Hollinshead concluded: “The event was a great success and we’ve had some really positive feedback from our dealers. A good time was had by all and I would like to thank everyone who came.”
