Following the success of its suite of applications for Vodafone S60 non-touch devices, Mobile Commerce, the UK provider of location-based services (LBS) and mobile content integration, has now launching applications for Vodafone’s tailor made touchscreen handsets, the Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 and Vodafone 360 Samsung M1.

The seven applications, integrating handset location, have been made available on Vodafone’s UK application store, enabling customers with the new handsets to download them and use their handset location to discover information about nearby services and amenities.

The applications offer up to the minute and easy to navigate local information to the handset, using content from Mobile Commerce’s leading brand partners.

The widgets, detailed below, have been developed in partnership with Multimap, toptable, THOMSON Local, OAG, ITIS and the Press Association, to bring the very latest information about local restaurants, gigs, films, flights, traffic and businesses direct to the user’s handset.

The seven applications are: Keep Moving Traffic: Provides information about nearby traffic incidents using content from ITIS – the leading supplier of traffic and travel information; What’s On: Using Press Association listings, ‘What’s On’ brings the latest information on clubbing, gigs, jazz, classical and comedy events; Bite to Eat: Whether it’s a morning coffee, fast food or a pub lunch, ‘Bite to Eat’ gives the best places in the area to eat every day; Flight Tracker: With content from OAG, the user can view worldwide flight information, quickly and easily to see if a flight has landed on time or been delayed; Multimap: Using the handset location, postcode or place name in the UK the widget displays a map from Multimap – Europe’s most popular mapping website; Toptable Special Offers: Displays restaurants with special offers in the local area, using listings from toptable – the UK and Europe’s leading restaurant restaurant reservation, review and search specialists; Thomson local: The user can search from over 2 million businesses in the UK by name or category to find the nearest local business, from plumbers to garden centres using Thompson’s listings.
