MobileAccess appoints UK executives

Networks & Network Services
MobileAccess, a global provider of enterprise wireless solutions, has announced the appointment of two new executives to drive the company’s continued expansion into Western Europe and provide a regional presence out of the UK.

Both proven leaders in the wireless industry, Marcus Watson joins MobileAccess as director of channel marketing and business development, while Simon Altman joins the company as director of strategic accounts. Watson and Altman will focus on introducing Encover, MobileAccess’ comprehensive portfolio of in-building coverage solutions, to network operators, resellers and enterprises throughout the region.

Headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, MobileAccess has already deployed its flexible, future-proof indoor wireless infrastructure in a number of high profile European buildings, including the historic Dutch Parliament in the Hague and the GAN Tower in Paris’ La Défense business district.

The company’s technology enables multiple wireless standards – including cellular, WLAN, mobile WiMAX, two-way radio and telemetry – to be delivered seamlessly throughout large facilities over a single network. MobileAccess’ solution also allows facilities to add future wireless applications to the existing system without the need for any additional infrastructure investment.

Cathy Zatloukal, CEO of MobileAccess, stated: “As core business functions, from day to day office communications to manufacturing automation, become increasingly dependent on wireless services, in-building infrastructure has become a must have for organisations of all kinds. In 2008, we deployed more than 600 million square feet of wireless coverage in North America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In 2009, we intend to consolidate this leadership position and, with the appointment of Marcus and Simon, bring our unique technology to the UK, France, Germany and beyond.”

Watson and Altman bring significant experience in the European telecom market to MobileAccess. Watson joins the company from Motorola, where he spent almost a decade in product management and business development on both a global and local basis.

Meanwhile, Altman adds 20 years of sales and marketing experience to the team, gathered at Marconi Space & Defense, Cellcom Israel and, most recently, Ceragon Networks, where he was responsible for building relationships with Europe’s leading network operators.
