MTV Telecom Enhance Distribution Status with Swyx & Achieve Record Sales Growth

Distributor MTV Telecom has announced a 32% increase in revenue from its Swyx IP telephony sales. In addition the company announces a major investment to support further sales and according to the company’s Chairman, Martin Hatcher, “the rapid adoption of software-based IP telephony over traditional or hybrid offerings has seen an impressive growth with Swyx leading the convergent segment.”

MTV Telecom has announced significant investment in marketing over the next two quarters and the recruitment of both sales and technical staff to support this surge in demand.

Additionally, MTV now has a clearer run at the market for Swyx following the vendor’s recent decision to cease distribution of their products via Wellingborough based distributor IP Telecoms.

Martin Hatcher commented recently that “Swyx has generated a considerable amount of interest within the marketplace and there is genuine excitement with their channel partners to take advantage of the latest Swyx training programmes. We have seen a substantial increase in the number of Swyx resellers and our dedicated product team is projected to increase sales in excess of 25% in the next quarter. Combined with substantial rise in marketing initiatives to support the Swyx resellers, we believe 2007 will be our most successful year to date. Indeed our prediction that within three years the majority of comms solutions will be software-based are fast becoming a reality.”

To further enhance the MTV Telecom support offering, the company has recently appointed Mark Russell as Head of Technical Services who has a wealth of Swyx experience and arguably the most technically proficient specialist in the UK.

Swyx’s VP of Marketing, Dave Smith commented, “The demand for pure IP telephony has grown at a phenomenal rate and the sheer range of functionality that Swyx can offer has lead to a snow-balling effect with the product almost able to sell itself. We believe that on-going technical advancements such as our SwyxMobile FMC convergence functionality will further add to the products’ appeal, enabling the reseller community to address an even wider audience.”

Future Bright for Swyx say MTV Telecom

News last week that Swyx had posted record sales for the last quarter and their UK re-organisation has met with approval from their largest distributor MTV Telecom

MTV Telecom Chairman Martin Hatcher told Comms Business Magazine that he had spoken with Swyx CEO Gunter Junk regarding the changes that will see Andy Bills depart as head of UK and Nordic sales following a two year ‘tour of duty’ to establish the brand in the market and that he feels very positive for the future.

“Swyx is getting much more focused on support and driving the business and increasing their ability to bring in latest generation technologies. They will go into profit this year and their backers are intending to invest substantially in the next phase. From the UK's perspective, there is a much clearer focus on what needs to be done and Dave Pitts and his team remain in place with a defined mandate. Sales of Swyx product continue to increase at MTV Telecom and this is good news for our company and our Swyx channel partners.”
