Nasstar Expands Infrastructure with EMC

Nasstar, the cloud service provider, has selected storage technology from EMC, a global leader in IT service delivery, to enhance substantially its network storage infrastructure and give Nasstar Hosted Desktop users an even faster and more robust service.

At the heart of Nasstar’s philosophy is that users should be able to work faster and more efficiently, whether it’s from their PC, laptop or tablet, using all the familiar applications they would use in a non-cloud environment.

To improve its users’ experience, Nasstar is deploying EMC VNX unified storage at its data centres in London and Hampshire. VNX unified storage employs state-of-the-art SSD (solid state drive) technology, also known as EMC enterprise Flash technology, to improve the performance and efficiency of Nasstar’s Hosted Desktop service.

By deploying an EMC-based infrastructure, Nasstar has added a key component in building a service with the best possible IT infrastructure. EMC’s infrastructure will be installed in Nasstar’s two high quality data centres, and across its networking, server equipment and its storage technology.

Nasstar CEO Charles Black commented “We reviewed our options and chose EMC based on its ability to provide the fastest and best storage in the market, which is what we want for our users. Providing the best user experience is the cornerstone of Nasstar’s Hosted Desktop service, and EMC’s VNX unified storage provides a powerful and efficient foundation for our continued expansion.”
