Need for Competitive Advantage Driving SMB Sales say Toshiba

Tim Webb, General Manager at Toshiba believes that the customers’ desire to be competitive in the 24 and under PBX market drives the sale of productivity applications such as CTI, call recording, call routing and voicemail.

“Our Strata CIX40 which features a fully functional voicemail system is especially successful. In addition, customers are beginning to see how IP can enable remote working, branch offices and mobility, which is why we have been strengthening our offering in these areas. IP hot-desking, and the connection of mobile devices to our Strata CIX range reflects this.

On the flip side, SIP and hosted solutions seem to be having less impact on the market, principally due to issues around reliability and security.”

Webb says Toshiba's position in this market remains strong. “The strength of our brand, reliability of our products on proven technology, customer investment protection policy, and the fact that we are delivering the key features and functions that end-customers are actually asking for means that we can fully satisfy the requirements of our market today and in the future. We are also ensuring that our products remain competitive in the marketplace whilst protecting margins for our resellers, and ensuring our partners have the skill set they require to deliver the right solution for our customers.”
