Nessco’s “Wet” Walk for Charity

Despite the rainy weather staff at Nessco Group put on their best water proofs and took part in a 5 mile charity walk in aid of the Juvenile Research Diabetes Foundation (JDRF) at Hazelhead Park in Aberdeen on Sunday 16th September 2007.

Over 15 enthusiastic walkers from Nessco participated in the walking event which raised over £1750 in sponsorship money for the national diabetes charity.

Alison Souter, from Nessco’s Marketing Department commented, “We were delighted with the turn out on the day especially with it being a Sunday and terrible weather! The money raised by the team this year was a fantastic amount and will be greatly appreciated by JDRF to put towards extensive research for such a worthwhile cause”.

JDRF funds go towards research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of type 1 diabetes and its serious and debilitating complications.

They are the largest voluntary health organization in the world, raising more money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications than any other voluntary health agency worldwide. To date they have provided more than £600 million to research internationally and they are proud to say that they have funded every major breakthrough in type 1 diabetes research in the past three decades.
