Network Services Provider Meets Stringent Standards Set by UK Government’s PSN Authority

MDNX announced that it has achieved Public Services Network (PSN) Direct Network Service Provider (DNSP) accreditation from the UK Government’s PSN Authority. As one of the 12 companies selected for the PSN Connectivity Framework earlier this year MDNX is now in a position to offer PSN compliant services to new customers through the framework contract and migrate its existing public sector customers to PSN.

As part of the PSN, MDNX is able to act as a DNSP to public sector organisations delivering highly resilient networks with intrinsic cost benefits. The PSN is a multi-supplier environment providing end-to-end service assurance for confidentiality, integrity and availability. It offers the benefits of a competitive multi-vendor market place, but with levels of performance and assurance typically associated with a single-supplier network. The PSN framework enables public sector organisations to realise cost savings through the removal of duplicated circuits and surplus bandwidth, and increases flexibility across the organisation.

MDNX achieved the PSN accreditation after a series of rigorous testing and security audits across its entire network services capability, in line with the NGN 2-2-4 security standards via the CESG Assured Service (Telecoms) scheme.

“Achieving the PSN accreditation is a huge achievement for the team and the work we have undertaken in the public sector. We had to meet a series of stringent requirements to be awarded the accreditation,” says MDNX PSN account director, Ian Wilcox. “The DNSP PSN accreditation enables MDNX to support our public sector customers to move to PSN and achieve greater cost savings, whilst receiving enterprise grade networking and connectivity services. We have had significant success working with public sector organisations and the accreditation further boosts our service capability in this space.”

"PSN is set to very significantly reduce the cost of communication services across the UK public sector and enable new, joined-up and shared public services for the benefit of citizens and businesses. PSN is a foundation of the UK Government ICT Strategy,” Jon Williams, Acting PSN Programme Director, Cabinet Office comments. “MDNX is to be commended for the commitment it has shown to the Public Services Network initiative since its inception. The Company’s success in PSN DNSP certification is to be welcomed as the public sector seek to realise the cost savings and efficiency gains of shared services and flexible working as delivered by PSN.”
