New VS Group Brand Performs Well in Charity Sector

Manchester’s bustling telco and technology scene has welcomed a new entrant following the launch of the rebranded VS Group Holdings.

Founded as Voluntary Sector Telecom by Managing Director Kevin Penman in 2012, the business has rebranded following relocation to its city centre offices.

Based at Hardman Square, Spinningfields, the newly styled VS Group provides communications solutions into the voluntary and charitable sector.

Operating under its Charity Comms Specialist brand, the business works with organisations such as Mencap, YMCA, Age UK and Southwark Cathedral, providing them with specialist telephony solutions encompassing telephone systems, next generation voice services, connectivity and maintenance support. And under its VS Installation and Training division, the firm supports other smaller telecom providers by providing engineering and technical support.

Over the last six months the business has grown its Manchester base to accommodate sales, customer services and finance, including the appointments of Jim Yelland, Head of Technical Engineering, Stephanie Hampson, Head of Finance, Danielle Moult, Customer Services and Megan Rowcroft, Office Administrator.

Founder and Managing Director Kevin Penman (pictured) has more than 15 years’ experience working in the fast moving technology industry and has, for the last five years, worked with charities, designing packages that support the budget-demands and day-to-day challenges of the sector.

He said: “The business primarily works with UK-based charities and third sector organisations by helping them to improve their technology infrastructure and help reduce costs so they can re-focus capital towards the day-to-day running costs and vital work. The voluntary sector is one that has been impacted by a number of cuts and economic pressures over the last few years, and we work closely with our customers to ensure they accommodate these.

“We take immense pride in the sector we represent, with our customers and their causes close to many of our team. We are proud to be able to support a number of our clients through both our specialist support and also via our corporate social responsibility activities.

“It is our intention to grow the business further of the coming 12 months and build our base from Manchester.”
