Nimans and Jabra ‘Drive’ UC Audio Device Momentum

Nimans and Jabra have joined forces to help resellers capitalise on new revenue opportunities fuelled by Unified Communications. Both parties say 2011 will see a major rise in demand for UC enabled audio devices, with Jabra’s intuitive Headset Academy playing a key role in boosting reseller knowledge and know-how.

“We are working closely with Jabra and have invested lots of time and effort to equip resellers with all the product knowledge they need to maximise the huge sales potential,” says Malcolm Swords, Nimans’ Jabra Headset Specialist.

“Jabra’s dedicated training academy features in-depth learning modules which emphasise the importance of introducing audio devices (such as headsets) at the start of the sales process. If you don’t combine a high quality audio device with a UC system it’s a bit like trying to drive a car without a steering wheel.”

Swords also emphasised: “We’ve seen a 25% rise in UC headset sales over the past 12 months. It’s about our staff passing on their expertise and knowledge so that resellers have the confidence and expertise to satisfy the UC demands of their customers. Many major manufacturers have introduced UC applications over the past 18 months or so, and after a bit of a lull in the middle of the year, demand has really started to take off again.

“We are finding that many organisations, especially those in the public sector will only really spend to save. This is where UC is ideally placed as it can inspire new working trends whether staff are out on the road, in a hotel room or working remotely at home. A laptop is often essential, but without a quality headset or other type of audio device, voice communication is extremely limited.”

He concluded: “We firmly believe that resellers must introduce the concept of an audio device at the front end of a general sale, rather than it becoming an after-thought with the temptation to use cheaper options which often result in poor performance. Noise cancelling, wide band headsets, such as the Jabra Pro and Go Series TM or Biz 2400 TM will always produce the most satisfying user experience as they work seamlessly with a laptop or PC. To make the most out of UC technology a high quality audio device is essential.”
