Nimans Appoint New Head of Sales

Nimans’ new Head of Indirect Sales is planning to strengthen the company’s dealer offering by moving it away from a product led to a solutions led business strategy.

Nigel Raine - who has just joined the company from ntl Business where he was New Business Sales Director for the North and Midlands - believes Nimans can achieve significant growth by building on its strengths as the UK’s biggest telecoms distributor and extending its data and network services offerings.

“Nimans undoubtedly enjoys a fantastic reputation as a product distributor, particular in voice markets,” said Mr. Raine, “and there is massive potential for growth, not just by further exploiting data markets, but by increasing the emphasis on solutions as a complement to the products we provide. Nimans has always been more than just a box shifter with the company’s success having been built upon quality of service. We now need to take that a stage further. If we can add value to transactions dealers can secure better margins, enjoy stronger client loyalty, and benefit from cross and upselling opportunities.”

Mr. Raine is well placed to implement such a strategy having gained considerable telecoms solutions experience during a 12 year stint with BT prior to joining ntl. He joined the company as an Account Manager and through successive promotions became Business Management Director within its Global Solutions (previously Ignite) outsourcing arm and then Deputy General Manager for Voice and Network Solutions.

In all he has nearly 20 years telecoms experience having started his career at Plessey-Telenet where he was an Account Manager responsible for the sale of private networks. In his new role at Nimans he will lead the Dealer Sales team which encompasses the company’s Avaya, BT, Ericsson, Mitel, Panasonic and Siemens business units and also its dedicated BT Connect operation.
