Held at Nimans’ Manchester headquarters, more than 30 dealers attended the half-day event to learn more about the KX-TDE products which are empowered with the latest SIP technology. The innovative systems support a range of advanced IP telephones, standard digital and analogue extensions, along with digital & ISDN trunks.
The audience heard that the TDE 100 and 200 units are forward and backward compatible with an existing Panasonic TDA system. An IPC main processor card can be used to easily upgrade a TDA 100 or 200.
Paul Kunes from Kings Lynn-based MTL made a 500-mile round-trip to attend the event, and was impressed by what he saw.
“We’ve been dealing with Panasonic products since we started up 15 years ago and the TDE seems very interesting. I really like the idea of compatibility with an existing TDA which will be a brilliant cost effective solution for many of our customers. The IP market is moving at a slow pace as far as we are concerned. We are still selling hundreds of analogue PBX units but our bigger customers are now taking a much more active interest in IP communications. The market is heading in that direction and the TDE is an ideal vehicle to move things further forward.”
Brian Tolley from Blackpool’s ITC has been working in the IP and CTI market for over 10 years and currently does not sell Panasonic equipment. “We are here today on a bit of a fact finding mission. Panasonic enjoys a great industry reputation and the TDE may be another string to our bow to open even more doors. The market continues to grow for us and we are looking at enhancing our product portfolio to offer our customers an even greater choice.”
The positive comments were echoed by Nimans’ Panasonic Business Manager, Ian Brindle, who said: “As Panasonic’s number one UK distributor we are all very excited by the great potential this new system offers the market. It will create many new business opportunities for IP and SIP solutions.”
