Nimans Smashes Through The Million Mark with BT

Sales records have been tumbling at Nimans as the distributor ended 2010 with a bang - with monthly BT sales smashing through the £1m barrier for the first time.

The best sales period of the year was fuelled by a record spike in orders for BT telephones - combined with unprecedented demand for Panasonic systems during a promotional focus day. In addition, the final weeks of the year saw the second biggest systems growth of 2010 with Siemens and NEC orders particularly strong - whilst demand for audio conferencing devices from brands such as Polycom approached record annual levels.

A delighted Head of Conferencing and Handset Sales, Ian Brindle, said the sales surge spanned many key areas of the business. Sales of BT telephones such as the Graphite, Diverse and Converse ranges had resulted in a 25% year-on-year leap in orders.

“Prosperity in times of adversity is what we are finding,” said Ian who highlighted how monthly BT sales at the end of 2010 had smashed through the £1m mark for the first time. He also pointed out how demand for IP handsets, Microsoft Lync-based products and general audio conferencing continued to rise. Bad weather had also contributed to a significant acceleration in conferencing sales.

Head of System Sales, Paul Burn, said the end of year was a time to remember - proving the second biggest uplift in sales for Siemens whilst NEC notched increased performance for the third month in a row.

“Overall the system team generated the second highest sales of the year towards the end of 2010. It’s a great platform to take us forward,” he declared.
