O2 signs Daisy Group as a strategic partner

Networks & Network Services
O2 has announced that Daisy Group has become the latest company to sign up as a strategic partner and become a member of O2 Centre of Excellence.

This follows Daisy's recent acquisition of SpiriTel, a leading independent provider of traditional voice and IP business solutions and a member of O2’s Centre of Excellence programme. The move will see Daisy establish a dedicated and separate O2 sales team to ensure that all routes to market managed by Daisy will benefit from both companies combined expertise and product range.

Daisy has recently been busy on the acquisition front. As well as SpiriTel, Daisy recently purchased Fone Logistics, an O2 Distributor. This enables Daisy to take O2 to market through distribution and the direct independent channels and has been fully supported by O2.

Ben Dowd, Business Sales Director at O2, said: “I am delighted to start this new relationship with Daisy. We have worked closely with the team there throughout their recent acquisitions and I am confident that Daisy will bring significant benefits to our customer base. Customer satisfaction is a key focus for us and in our experience the more products and services a customer buys the more likely the more satisfied they will be.

“Our partners continue to set the benchmark in the UK and have access to the best support from O2. Over the past few months we have seen market leading performance across all our partners and this is something we are keen to see continue. We are dedicated to evolving the Centre of Excellence principles ensuring we involve all our partners in this process through an open dialogue. We believe it is only through these true partnerships that our channel solutions will succeed.”

Matthew Riley, CEO of Daisy Group plc, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the acquisition of SpiriTel. A key benefit of the acquisition is the opportunity to form a closer partnership with O2 and we welcome the opportunity to become an O2 Centre of Excellence. Through a dedicated and focused O2 team, we look forward to growing this part of our business significantly. The SpiriTel acquisition increases our competitive position in the mobile section of the unified communications market and gives us a great opportunity to serve the SME and mid market even more effectively with O2 as a strategic partner. This acquisition is also consistent with our ambition to further consolidate the fragmented communications market.”
