Oak Telecom tells channel to knuckle down

Oak Telecom boss, James Emm, joint CEO, has stated that the channel needs to “work hard and think smart” in today’s difficult financial climate.

“The economy is tough,” remarked Emm. “If we had just relied on our normal run-rate business over the last 12 months, I don’t think we would be making our sales targets. We are however breaking our sales targets, without fail.

“That is due to a number of reasons, including selling some large call recorders and CallXpress systems, focusing on certain vertical market software applications for our CTI product, and finally, offering special price bundles for the SME market, sub 32 extensions and 12 lines area. The main thing to remember though, is work hard and think smart.”

Oak was at Convergence Summit South as one of the main sponsors of the event, where it wass showing the channel new and existing technologies, with an emphasis on CallXpress, a voice recognition and unified message product manufactured by US company, AVST. Emm stated the company has already had some significant wins on this product since it began selling it this year, including 118 118, Traffic Master, and Capita.

The business was also at Sandown Park to show its Comms Business award-winning RecordX product (Most Innovative Channel Product – Application Software). Emm added that most of Oak’s account managers are here for the two days of this event, ready to meet and greet the channel and talk business.

“As well as being here to meet existing and new customers, and network with other exhibitors, we are here to be seen to be here; some of our competitors are notable by their absence.” He concluded: “We are also here to have some beer!”
