OneAccess and Easynet Connect Win at Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2011

OneAccess, the European leader in multi-service access routers, and Easynet Connect, a specialist in internet connectivity for SMEs, have been named winners of the Business Service Innovation category at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2011. The award recognises the cutting edge OneAccess technology that underpins Easynet’s high-quality, extremely competitive and uncontended SureStream broadband service to SMEs.

OneAccess’s ONE80M Multi-Service Access Router, with its unique emphasis on performance in the first mile, helps guarantee symmetrical bandwidth. The combination of robust technology at a competitive price point enables SureStream to be delivered up to 50 per cent cheaper than a comparable BT lease line. The service covers 1,200 Easynet connections.

Bertrand Meis, CEO, OneAccess, comments, “We are delighted to receive such a high-profile accolade. It highlights our commitment to helping our customers design and build new services for end users, specifically those in the SME market.

“Using our technology, Easynet was able to develop SureStream – a resilient, uncontended, scalable, high-speed symmetrical broadband service at a fraction of the cost of its competitors.”

The awards are designed to recognise innovative projects that service providers around the world have completed in association with their vendors and suppliers.

“Given the large number of vendor partnerships entering these prestigious awards, we’re extremely pleased that the benefits of our service offering to customers have been recognised, says, Neil Gallagher, Easynet Connect Sales Director “Our partnership with OneAccess continues to grow, and we look forward to working with them in the future to develop more award-winning services.”

Winners were announced at an awards ceremony at Park Lane Hotel, London, last night. In presenting the Awards, Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business, commented, “This is the fifth time we’ve run the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards and this year we saw more nominations, from a greater range of operators and vendors, than ever before.

“This is a sure sign the industry is working harder and harder to deliver exciting and innovative services to customers worldwide. We’ve seen a greater number of nominations for services directly aimed at businesses and consumers, designed to give them better services and make their lives easier.

“Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners and to OneAccess and Easynet for their innovative high-speed services to SMEs.”
