Opal, the channel partner and provider of next generation communication technologies, has announced the acquisition of telecoms company, UK Telco, based in the West Midlands.

This acquisition will further expand Opal’s channel partner base and further demonstrates the company’s commitment to channel partners by offering them a wide variety of commercial models, products and services. The move also demonstrates Opal’s ability to offer partners a clean exit, when business owners are ready.

Andy Hollingworth, Opal’s Director of Wholesale said: “Opal is happy to announce the acquisition of UK Telco. This is another example of Opal acquiring a partner where we have built really strong long term relationship. Importantly when it was the right time for the owners to exit, Opal was able to quickly agree a deal, provide a good home for the customer base and continue to offer support to UK Telco’s channel partners.”

Rob Boylett, UK Telco’s former MD said: “When we knew the time was right to exit, the natural option was Opal. We have been working with them for 8 years and their support and commitment has been unsurpassed.”

The former MD is continuing with a new telecoms venture and this will again be using Opal for wholesales services.

UK Telco has been a specialised supplier to independent switchless resellers for the last 8 years. It had a number of existing agreements with Tier 1 carriers including Opal, and delivers high quality services tailored to meet specific customer requirements, including voice, data and mobile solutions.
