Orange revamps mobile broadband offering

Orange has revealed that it is extending its popular animal plans to mobile broadband customers with the launch of Panther, Dolphin and Racoon. Forming part of its mobile broadband refresh, these new packages are designed to make it even easier for customers to choose a plan that suits their personal lifestyle, while also building on Orange’s commitment to offer customers greater choice and value.

For just £15 a month, Dolphin helps customers make the most of their day by providing an hour of unlimited surfing at a time they choose. Customers can pick a ‘Happy Hour’ that suits their lifestyle from the following; 8am-9am (the morning commute), 12-1pm (lunch break), 4pm-5pm (late afternoon) or 10pm-11pm (late night). This is perfect for customers that use the internet regularly to keep in touch with friends and family via email or via social networking sites for those important pokes and tweets.

Customers also enjoy 3GB of data per month on an 18 month contract or 2GB of data per month on a 1 month rolling contract.

Panther Mobile Broadband: Starting at £25 a month, this plan is designed for people that want an all-inclusive mobile broadband package as it provides either 10GB or unlimited data a month2. It is the perfect plan for people wanting to use their dongle as their primary internet connection, either at home or on the move.

Racoon Mobile Broadband: Starting at just £5 a month3, the Racoon plan is designed for customers that enjoy occasional or light surfing – and simply want the convenience of being able to access mobile broadband on-the-go.

All mobile broadband customers on 18 month contracts receive a dongle for free (Huawei E1752) or can purchase our white exclusive dongle (Option 515M) for just £20, which comes with a free 8GB memory card to store photos, music and films - while stocks last.

Laptop Tariffs: Select Panther, Dolphin and Racoon plans are now also available with laptops on 24 month plans. With these packages, customers can own either the Asus 1005HGO netbook or the Compaq CQ61 full-size notebook – simply by paying an additional £15-£20 per month on top of their monthly mobile broadband plan. This makes it even easier for customers to get connected and access the online content they need, whether at work or play.

Bill Promise: What’s more, with Orange you get a Mobile Broadband Bill Promise - an automatic monthly bill cap which means that Orange mobile broadband customers will not be charged more than an extra £40 a month for out of bundle national data usage if they accidentally go over their monthly data allowance whilst using their dongle in the UK. This excludes any SMS sent or data roaming abroad.

Finally, Orange has retained its position as the top mobile broadband provider in the UK for the third consecutive quarter, according to YouGov’s latest dongle tracker survey. The latest quarter of research conducted in April 2010, shows that customers ranked Orange top in six categories; overall value for money, customer service, overall quality, upload speeds, getting connected and reliability in the evenings 4.

Asif Aziz, director of broadband and home, Orange UK: “Our mobile animal plans have been extremely popular as they allow customers to quickly select the right package which is best for them, so we’ve decided to extend these to our mobile broadband range, making it easier for customers to find the tariff that meets their digital needs and which is best suited to their personal lifestyle.”

The new plans were made available from 5 May, across all Orange retail channels including telesales, Orange shops and online.
