Outsourcery Unleash ‘PBX Killer’

Cloud Service Provider is to launch its own collaboration and communications service, built upon Microsoft’s Lync, the replacement application for OCS, at Microsoft’s London offices on 22nd June.

Named Outsourcery Unified Lync, the company expects the service to have significant impact on the small PBX and video conferencing market, and boost productivity on premises and across sites as hosted and federated versions become available.

James Griffin, Director of Product Strategy for Outsourcery said, “Outsourcery has spent many months and millions of pounds assessing Lync, using it as a core communications engine and developing it into a complete communications platform. Having developed it for internal use, we are fantastically placed to deliver it to customers and our partners as we know it intimately and have demonstrated the business changing impact of the solution – a real world scenario. Outsourcery customers and partners can expect us to continue to lead the market as we have many planned enhancements already in development.”

Outsourcery says Unified Lync will deliver a number of benefits which will allow organisations to improve communication, reduce telephony costs and increase staff productivity. Through Unified Lync, Outsourcery can deliver video conferencing straight to the desktop and reduce the pain and expense associated with disparate teams working across multi-site organisations. Features such as desktop sharing, teleconferencing and presence are all delivered via the existing network. It also delivers a fully integrated PBX, allowing full control of traditional telephony features such as call forwarding, simultaneous ringing and voice mails delivered as an email. As with its predecessor OCS, ‘presence’ forms a strong core to the new product, facilitating efficient collaboration.

Griffin continued, “Unified Lync has become an integral part of Outsourcery’s own business strategy and has saved the company hundreds of thousands in travelling costs, executive time and hardware. It has also assisted our recruitment efforts, as it no longer means we are restricted to traditionally accepted catchment areas (30 mile radius) from which to select staff. It literally makes the whole country a resource pool and at Outsourcery, video conferencing is now an integral way of working.”
