Peter Jones launches online charity tennis auction

Children’s charity, The Peter Jones Foundation, has partnered with eBay to offer tennis fans the chance to bid to partner one of three legendary tennis players in an exclusive charity tennis tournament, The Enterprise Cup. The 10 day auction on eBay finishes today.

Successful bidders will partner one off three top tennis stars including BBC Tennis commentator and Wimbledon champion Pat Cash, notorious on-court entertainer and former French Open doubles champion Henri Leconte and former world number one and holder of seven Grand Slam singles titles Mats Wilander. Jeremy Bates and Peter McNamara will also be joining the action and competing for the coveted Enterprise Cup alongside special guest Peter Jones CBE.

The Enterprise Cup will take place on Saturday 20 June during The Fortis Bank Tennis Classic at the renowned Hurlingham Club in West London. All proceeds from the Enterprise Cup will benefit the Peter Jones Foundation, a charity dedicated to providing support and funding for children and young people across the UK.

Jones said: “The Enterprise Cup promises to be a thrilling day, after all, it’s not every day you get the chance to play tennis against former Wimbledon Champions. Tennis has always been a major passion of mine, in fact, my first business as a teenager was a tennis academy. And I’m delighted to be in a position to combine two of my greatest passions, tennis and the Peter Jones Foundation.”

Jones continued: “The Peter Jones Foundation benefits thousands of children every year who otherwise wouldn’t receive vital funding and support. The foundation is committed to helping children and young people, no matter what their background, enjoy a brighter future. It’s this commitment that enabled the foundation to help establish the National Enterprise Academy, an amazing project that will help equip the next generation of young people from all walks of life with the entrepreneurial skills to succeed in the modern business world.”

Jenny Thomas from eBay, said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to win the chance to play against some of the world’s top tennis stars. We hope that this unique eBay auction will raise a huge amount of money for a very worthwhile cause.”
