PodM2M Set to Launch IoT Billing Platform

M2M & IoT
PodM2M has today announced that its hierarchical billing platform, Pod Billing, will be launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The platform is designed to enable systems integrators and hardware manufacturers to monetise their IoT solutions by billing recurring revenue at every tier of the value chain.

One of the biggest barriers to the growth of the IoT is the lack of tools to enable IoT companies to quickly launch and bill new recurring services. Pod Billing brings together PodM2M´s global connectivity with a subscription-based product creation tool and a tiered billing hierarchy. This enables users to quickly create new products and services, manage IoT connectivity and bill an infinite number of subsidiary accounts with custom invoicing at every stage.

The out-of-the-box solution is designed to remove the burdens many IoT companies face when implementing recurring services, allowing them to quickly get new services to market without risking large investments in software development, administrative overheads or time-consuming negotiations with operators.

On one hand, it includes PodM2M´s agnostic connectivity based on operator relationships built up over 20 years to cover 600+ networks in 185 countries, including native agreements with four major North American carriers. Multi-network, multi-IMSI, eUICC and LPWAN options are available, all supported 24/7 by a multi-lingual team. On the other hand, the flexible product engine allows users to create end-to-end solutions by combining existing devices with subscription-based connectivity and other value-added services. Existing platforms can be easily integrated via API to centralise management and billing. Solutions can then be assigned to a hierarchy of resellers and billed on a recurring basis, which is pre-defined by the user.

“As we have worked closely with our customers over the years, we have seen an increasing need for a centralised, scalable billing platform to enable them to benefit from the recurring revenue the IoT can bring,” commented Charles Towers-Clark, CEO Pod Group. “Creating innovative IoT applications is only one half of the story, the other half is about being able to develop ongoing relationships with resellers, distributors and end users by offering them access to additional services which can be centrally billed on a subscription basis. This is the key to unlocking the value of the IoT.”
