Polycom Sets New Standard for Room Telepresence System Capabilities

Polycom has expanded the standard capabilities for its entire line of standards-based Polycom HDX room telepresence systems. The new standards include 1080p high definition (HD) video at up to 50 percent less bandwidth which will help ensure users enjoy an UltimateHD™ experience.

The UltimateHD enables companies to share high-definition voice and video content in a much more life-like manner. This means that people can work across vast distances just as effectively as if they were sitting in the same room. This can ultimately improve an organisation’s productivity, while also speeding up decision making and reducing costs. By creating a more life-like interaction, companies are more likely to adopt video communications, which can also help reduce a company’s carbon emissions which will undoubtedly be front of mind for many organisations with the introduction of the Carbon Reduction Commitment at the start of this month.

This is the latest step from Polycom as it continues to support the growing use of visual communications and integration into the leading UC environments of Polycom Open Collaboration Network partners.
