Proudly celebrating 21 years in business

One of Scotland’s longest established IT service providers has celebrated its 21st birthday in style by breaking through the £2 million turnover barrier.

Aberdeen-based Solutions enjoyed its fourth consecutive year of growth and forecasts turnover in 2013 will grow by a further 25% to £2.5 million.

Established in 1991 by Kevin Coll, Solutions now employs 21 staff at its Bridge Street office and expects to take on a further five staff in the next year to keep in step with client demand.

The company delivers a range of innovative IT services including the design, build, installation and support of secure and reliable networks and infrastructures. Using the latest virtualisation technology, Solutions ensures that their clients’ systems are fully operational, tolerant and always available to users 24/7.

Solutions manager director, Kevin Coll, said: “Information technology is one of the fastest changing industries in the world and the landscape is drastically different from when I first started out, so to reach 21 years in business is a great achievement.”

As well as supporting clients’ IT networks, Solutions develop client-specific software and connects businesses together with voice, data and other communication and security tools.

Its Onboard Global Solutions range of web-based software has been developed to provide energy clients with a powerful online portal to track their people, assets, training, competency, certification and health & safety functions, in one collaborative system.

Mr Coll added: “Our success is down to our ability to adapt quickly to new ways of working, embracing new technologies and listening carefully to our clients’ needs and supporting accordingly.

“We have a very solid client base, with many clients on our books for more than 15 years, and we will consolidate that position next year by recruiting more staff and improving turnover for the fifth year in a row.”

Solutions clients include major oil and gas industry operators, services companies, construction firms, legal and accountancy partnerships in addition to travel, food and pharmaceutical companies. Long standing clients include, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Petrofac Training, Archer and Chalmers Bakery Ltd.

Initially founded as a software and hardware reseller, Solutions opened a training school in 1997 to plug a gap in the market for IT training courses on a range of Microsoft Office applications and has since trained more than 19,000 delegates. The company is an approved Microsoft training centre and is accredited by other major players including VMware, Fujitsu, CISCO and CITRIX.
