Frequency has announced the re-structure of its management team and significant new additions to its sales and purchasing divisions. With immediate effect, Managing Director Gareth Limpenny has become Chief Executive of the company, with Sales and Purchasing Director John Willoughby moving into the Managing Director role. With an additional five new strategic appointments, Frequency is set to continue building on its market position across the UK and Europe and further its reputation as a major distributor of mobile phone accessories and audio products.
“Since I founded the company in 2002, Frequency has grown significantly year-on-year.” said Frequency Chief Executive Gareth Limpenny. “2013 in particular was a big year for us, as we expanded our penetration in the UK and especially across Europe. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved so far and, with ambitious growth plans in place, John Willoughby is perfectly placed to lead the team as we move up to the next level and take advantage of the new opportunities that will make Frequency an even greater force in the market.”
Frequency’s new Managing Director, John Willoughby, added, “Having helped develop the company into a major UK and International distributor of mobile accessories and audio products, I am delighted to be taking on the role. Thanks to the great team we have here at Frequency, our supportive vendors and excellent customers, I am sure we can exceed our ambitions and build on the excellent reputation we already have in the market.”
Matt Gould (previously of Griffin Technology) joins Frequency as Sales Director UK and Ireland and is responsible for all sales activities in the region.
Commenting on his appointment, Gould said, “Having worked with Frequency whilst at Griffin Technology, I was always impressed with their can-do attitude and entrepreneurial flair. Once made fully aware of their ambitious growth plans, it was a very easy decision to join what is a company that is seriously going places.”
Andy Ellis joins Frequency as Head of Purchasing, supervising the buying, listings, range-development and supplier relationships.
Strengthening its field sales team, Frequency has also appointed two new National Account Managers – Davy Sweeney and Sam Moore.
The new Frequency restructure takes place with immediate effect. “We are delighted to have Matt, Andy, Rebecca, Davy and Sam on board and welcome them to the team.” said John Willoughby. “Their appointments mark the start of a new chapter for Frequency, as we continue to build on what was already an industry-leading team. With further staff and vendor appointments due shortly, we are very confident that our ambitious plans will be realised and look forward to an exciting period for the company.”
